Girl died of fire
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 28 April 2013: A teen aged girl died of burnt injuries in Kalimpong. The 16 year old girl is suspected to have set herself ablaze in Bhalukhop yesterday evening.
According to police sources family of deceased Raksha Chhettri lives in Rambi in NH 31 A and she was staying in her relative's house in Bhalukhop. The girl had appeared Madhyamik Pariksha from a Girls' school this year.
Sources said that she doused herself with Kerosene and set herself in fire. It is suspected that before the incident she went to buy kerosene from a ration shop this afternoon and went straight to the Bhalukhop crematorium burning ghat near her residence and set herself in fire.
Some other sources said that some local people heard screams and rushed towards the spot where she was found almost burnt and writhing in pain.
Local Fire Brigade and Police reached the spot . They found a mobile phone, ration card and an empty container.
Her family members have doubted the death as foul play by some miscreants and not a case of suicide. They demanded of intensive investigation on the death. Police have sent her body to Siliguri for forensic test. The police has started the investigation.
