Foundation stone laid by GTA Chief

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 26 April 2013: While laying the Foundation stone of Gyan Block of Kalimpong Girls' HS School, Bimal Gurung, Chief Executive of the GTA promised to construct Smart Class for the school from  GTA's grant. 

Gurung was the chief guest of the foundation laying programme of Gyan Block an annex to the present school building. Gurung also inaugurated the Commerce section of the School's HS Section. He stated that Kalimpong is a town of educational institutions and there is none to think about the future and development of these institutes. During his address he emphasised on development and educational development above politics.

Addressing the audience SS Pradhan, Principal of the School also announced that the school will celebrate its centenary of establishment in 2015 and the school is obliged to GTA for its initiative to start smart class in the school.

Gurung is in Kalimpong and will be inaugurating the Multi storied complex and motor stand in near Novelty Cinema hall on 28th April. 
The construction of the complex was in controversy as some residents of the area objected on the construction and removal of their residences from the area.
