PRASHANT ACHARYA, EOI, SILIGURI, AUGUST 2, 2022 : Hundreds of BJP workers on Tuesday held a protest rally in front of the gate of North Bengal University under the leadership of Matigara - Naxalbari MLA Anandamoy Barman in connection with the School Service Commission (SSC) recruitment corruption.
There was tension in the campus as BJP workers clashed with the police. The gate of the university was broken.
Two BJP workers were arrested .MLA Anandamoy Barman wanted the Enforcement Directorate to institute a probe in the role of a top functionary of the NBU in the SSC scam.
He had been holding the post of SSC chairman for a few months when allegations against former Education Minister of West Bengal Partha Chatterjee, the MLA said.
He had gone on leave and was now hiding abroad, the MLA alleged.
