1 die, 260 in Darj, 59 in Darj Hills, 136 in Plains, 78 in SMC tests positive, 61 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

 Out of 2429 samples- 702 tests positive, 87 recovered from Covid-19.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 24 January 2022: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:

01 died

Krishna Chhetri, 50 yr old of Kurseong, died today in Covid Block of NBMCH.

Paediatric Ward of NBMCH

20 new children suspected to be infected by Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) and none suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) is admitted from Coochbehar in pediatric ward of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) during the last 24 hrs,

17 released today after recovery. 

Presently 2 Children suffering from ARI patients are being treated. 

 

2 child died:

In the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) unit of NBMCH, 2 child died of ailments other than ARI and RSV.

 

78 in SMC:

78 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (65 in Darjeeling and 13 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

 

260 in Darjeeling district:

260 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 65 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

59 of the Hills (17 in Darjeeling Municipality, 7 in Kurseong Municipality, 4 in Mirik, 13 in Bijanbari, 11 in Sukhiapokhari, 7 in Takdah)

136 of the plains (21 in Khoribari, 57 in Matigara, 25 in Naxalbari, 20 in Phansidewa, 13 in Sukuna) also test positive.263

61 admitted:

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 61 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 29 patients, 18 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 11 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 

There are 4 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 21 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 4 in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and 3 in surgical isolation ward and none in HDU (Trauma care centre).

During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

87 Discharged:

87 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
