3 death (2 of Siliguri, 1 of Alipurduar); 37 of Hills (20 of Kalimpong and 17 of Darjeeling), 45 of SMC infected, 79 Active cases in GTA, Tourism Minister Gautam Deb tested positive

72 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 20 in Kalimpong, - 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 6 in Kurseong Municipality, 4 in Sukhiapokhari,2  in Pulbazar, 1 in Mirik, 2 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 20 in Sukuna, 6 in Khoribari,  30 in Matigara, 15 in Naxalbari, and  13 in Phansidewa tested positive. 37 in Alipurduar, 83 in Coochbehar, 102 in Jalpaiguri, 54 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 6 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:-

3 Death: 

3 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district.

Raj Kumar Sen, 51 yr old of Sukantanagar- Ward no 38 Siliguri;

Nirmal Das, 65 yr old of Ashrampara Siliguri died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

Chandra Kumar Rai,  71 yr old of Paanbari Alipurduar died in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). 

45 of SMC:

45 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (33 of Darjeeling and 12 of Jalpaiguri district) tested positive. 

 

130 in Darjeeling district:

Of the  130 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 33 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 17 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 6 in Kurseong Municipality, 4 in Sukhiapokhari,2  in Pulbazar, 1 in Mirik, 2 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 20 in Sukuna, 6 in Khoribari,  30 in Matigara, 15 in Naxalbari, and  13 in Phansidewa tested positive.

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district with 114 new cases,  12301 confirmed cases of which 10802 have recovered and 145 died while 1354 are active cases.

20 in Kalimpong:

20 new cases from Kalimpong is reported. Including 2 deaths of yesterday, death toll in Kalimpong district due to Covid -19 is 20 though the state government’s official bulletin records 17 deaths. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district with 20 new cases, 1500 confirmed cases of which 1398 have recovered, 17 died and 85 are active cases.

54 in Malda:  

54 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda with 103 new cases, 10303 confirmed cases of which 9300 have recovered and 88 died and 915 are active cases.

 

37 in Alipurduar:

37 new cases, 46 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar with 27 new cases, 6577 confirmed cases of which 6250 have recovered and 78 died while 249 are active cases. 

83 in Coochbehar: 

83 new cases with 70 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar with 85 new cases, 9122 confirmed cases of which 8159 have recovered, 54 died and 909 are active cases. 

102 in Jalpaiguri: 

102 new cases, 66 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri with 98 new case, 9680 confirmed cases of which 94 died while 8608 have recovered and 978 are active cases.

72 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 72 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 20 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 9 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 8 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 3 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 of Kurseong and 1 of Sukuna admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 81 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 15 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 11 patients are newly admitted and 3 are released.

At Dr.Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Singel TE, Bhotay Busty Darjeeling, Ging, Ava Art Gallery, Mahanadi, Mungpoo, Makaibari, Tamsang Khasmahal, Dudhia, St. Mary’s Hill, Dowhill, Kharey Kurseong, Marybong TG, Naya Bazar, 2 of Kurseong,  North Point Darjeeling and Jholung GTA area are admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 75 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 6 patients are newly admitted, 5 are released.

1 each of Subedar Busty Kurseong, Sukuna and 10th Mile Kalimpong of GTA area are admitted. 

 

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

55 patients are admitted of which 13 are in ICU and are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 32 are Covid patients. 7 patients are released.

1 from Borbong Busty Kurseong and 1 of Shantigram admitted.

7 patients of Darjeeling and 33 from Kalimpong are admitted and 1 referred out in this hospital.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 648 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 653 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1301.

There are 22 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital outside GTA area, 40 in GTA area and 15 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 79 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
