Record spike of 54 death, 2936 new cases, 104326 confirmed cases, 26003 active cases, 2725 recovery, recovery rate increased to 72.96%.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 12 August 2020: Rate of recovery of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal during the last 24 hours is 72.96 percent.

In the state the number of new cases also has been increasing and during the last 24 hours it has recorded 2936 new cases (1 day before-2931, 2 days before- 2905) as well as 54 death (1 day before-49, 2 days before- 41) during the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovery is 2725 (1 day before-3067, 2 days before- 3208) and 104326 confirmed cases (1 day before-101390, 2 days before- 98459) while active cases is 26003 (1 day before-25846, 2 days before-26031). The death toll from the disease in the state till now is 2203 (1 day before-2149, 2 days before-2100). After recovery of the infection 76120 (1 day before-73395, days before- 70328) Covid patients are released from all the Covid hospitals of the state.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 61, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 27712 (1 day before-27015, 2 days before-26297) samples were tested that tally 1186923 (1 day before-1159211, 2 days before- 1132196) till now since day 1.

In the last 24 hours, 28838 persons (1 day before-27927, 2 days before- 26301) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 402173 persons (1 day before-429216, 2 days before- 425434) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 431011 (1 day-401289, 2 days before- 399133).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 2703 persons (1 day before-2720, 2 days before- 2829) and so far from these centres 106519 persons (1 day before-106364, 2 days before- 106926) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 83 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 28 Government Covid hospitals and 55 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
