92605 new cases, 1133 deaths and 94612 cured/discharged in last 24 hours.
So far, 86,752 people have died, while 43,03,043 have recovered since the first case was recorded in Kerala in January. One Covid-19 patient has been recorded as a migrated case, according to the Union health ministry.
The government began its phased ‘unlockdown’ from 8 June, with extensive relaxations including opening of religious places, shopping malls and restaurants. Public transport, except metro services, have also resumed operations.
While experimental treatments have shown some promise, the world is focused on the results of vaccine trials being conducted in several countries. In India, the ICMR is also working on a human trial for the vaccine it is developing with Bharat Biotech, called Covaxin.
Maharashtra has the highest number of cases and the tally stands to 11,88,015-total cases, 2,97,866 Active cases, 8,57,933 Discharged, and 32,216 deaths. During the last 24 hours new cases is 20,519 ; active cases is 3,407, death is 425, discharge is 23,501. In the state death ratio is 2.71% while recovery ratio is 72.22%.
