Record spike of 2198 new cases, 40209 confirmed cases, 15594 active cases, 1286 recovery, recovery rate decreased from 66.72% to 58.54%

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 18 July 2020 : Since 5th July the rate of recovery of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has been decreasing. On 4th July it has reached upto 66.72%, from the very day it has been decreasing and during the last 24 hours it is 58.54 percent.

In the state the number of new cases also has been increasing and during the last 24 hours it has 2198 new cases (1 day before-1894, 2 days before- 1690) as well as 27 death (1 day before-26, 2 days before- 23) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovery is 1286 (1 day before-838, 2 days before- 735) and confirmed cases is 40209 (1 day before-38011, 2 days before- 36117) while active cases is 15594 (1 day before-14709, 2 days before-13679). The death toll from the disease in the state till now is 1076 (1 day before-1049, 2 days before-1023).

After recovery of the infection 23539 (1 day before-22253, days before- 21415) Covid patients are released from the hospital.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 54, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 13465 (1 day before-13240, 2 days before-13180) samples were tested that tally 689813 (1 day before-676348, 2 days before- 663108) till now since day 1.

In the last 24 hours, 29603 persons (1 day before-27410, 2 days before- 25380) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 373105 persons (1 day before-369550, 2 days before- 366519) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 343102 (1 day before-342140, 2 days before- 341139).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are persons 3806 (1 day before-3839, 2 days before- 4027) and so far from these centres 103315 persons (1 day before-102846, 2 days before- 102600) were released after recovery.
