Record positive cases -83 in Malda, 35 tested positive in Siliguri (26 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation), 2 died, 20 released, 1 PG trainee Doctor and 2 nurses of NBMCH, One DSP of Jalpaiguri infected

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 18 July 2020:  

2 died in Siliguri: 35 yr Jamuribhitta Rajgunj died in Dr. Chhangs Covid hospital.

34 yr Banshi Goyel of Chanapatti Ward no 14 died in a private nursing home.

Darjeeling: 35 reported positive from the VRDL laboratory of NBMCH. Of them 26 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation tested positive . 

1 PG trainee doctor and 2 nurses of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital along with the husband of one nurse tested positive.

Others testing positive are 4 of Ward no.4, 3 of Ward no. 3, 5, 28, 31, 2 of Ward no.32, 35, 1 each of Ward no.3, 4, 8, 9, 16, 34, 38, 39, 41, 42. Beside these, one each of Suryasen Colony, Hyderpara, Gurung Busty, staff of NBSTC, Sukanta palli, Hakimpara, Bidhannagar, BDO Office Matigara, Tikiapara, Salbari, Bardhaman Road, Medical more, Iskon Mandir Road, Khalpara, Jyotinagar colony Sitalapara, Gwalapatti, Gangrampur, Fatakpur, Palpara, Fuleswari, Eastern Byepass,  Fulbari, Ambari, Maynaguri, Birpara and  Kishangunj tested positive.

Malda:  Record 83 new cases and 1 death reported today from Malda. There are 1530 Confirmed cases, 941 have recovered and 7 died and 582 are active cases. 

Jalpaiguri:  64 new cases are reported from Jalpaiguri today. One DSP of Jalpaiguri is infected today. In the district there are 723 confirmed cases of which 415 have recovered, 4 died and 246 active cases.

Alipurduar: 2 new case reported from Alipurduar. Both 2 are staff of BDO office of Madarihat. In the district there are 214 Confirmed cases, 194 recovered and 18 active cases. 

Coochbehar:  6 new cases of Covid 19 infection reported today. It includes 5 government officials. The complete report of the district is 394 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and 1 of them had died, 320 recovery and 73 active cases.  

20 Discharged: After testing negative twice and recovery from the infection- 8 from Dr. Chhang’s Covid Superspeciality hospital, 8 from Desun Covid hospital and 4 from different Safe homes are discharged today. 

NBMCH

There are 11 patients in the three Isolation Ward of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 2 in Surgical Ward, 4 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU), and 5 in Gynecological ward. 

1 of Lingsey , Kalimpong is admitted in Isolation ward of NBMCH.

DR. CHHANG'S SS COVID hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 82 patients are admitted today. 

There are 3 patients of GTA, 1 patient each of Lebong,  Tukvar Darjeeling   and 1 of  Kalimpong are admitted.

DESUN hospital

DESUN hospital is the second Covid hospital of Darjeeling district. In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 79 Covid-19 patients are admitted of them 16 are in ICU. 1 house keeping staff of this hospital tested positive.

1 each of Tindharia and Kalimpong are admitted.   1 is referred to a safe Home while another is released. 

TRIBENI Hospital

Government of West Bengal has upgraded this hospital from SARI II to SARI IV Covid hospital. Presently there are 5 patients of Darjeeling in Triveni hospital. Released 2 of Darjeeling and admitted new patients from Darjeeling.

HATIGHISA SAFE HOUSE 

1 of Tindharia and 1 of Mirik are admitted.

BATASIA SAFE HOUSE 

1 of Mirik and 1 of Kurseong are admitted to this Safe House. 

GTA

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 18 July 2020: 

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 1460 and in Kalimpong district is 869, the tally of GTA area stands to 1329. 

Altogether there are 87 persons in 6 institutional facility quarantines of GTA.

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 1237 confirmed cases of which 735 have recovered and 14 died while 488 are active cases. 

Similarly Kalimpong district has 63 confirmed cases of which 55 have recovered, 1 died and 7 are active cases. 

Alipurduar has 217 confirmed cases of which 193 have recovered and 1 died while 23 are active cases. Jalpaiguri has 729 confirmed cases of which 3 died while 449 have recovered and 277 are active cases. 

CoochBehar has 398 confirmed cases of which 318 have recovered and 80 are active cases. 

Malda has 1626 confirmed cases of which 1025 have recovered and 7 died and 594 are active cases.
