7 Coronavirus patient in Dr. Chang's Covid hospital ( 4 of Siliguri)....148 (yesterday 157) patients of GTA area in 8 different institutional quarantines....2568 (yesterday 2490) in home quarantine.

NORTH BENGAL 

DESUN (SARI)

In DESUN severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) Hospital, there are 14 patients under treatment for symptoms of Covid- 19 like illness. Of these 2 are in the ICU with respiratory difficulties. 4 of Chopra are released today.

Covid-19 Hospital

5 new Covid-19 positive patients of Chopra are identified and admitted at Malda Covid hospital today .

7 patients are now under treatment in this hospital. 

They are 4 patients of Siliguri. One of them is a 40 year old insurance agent of Deshbandhupara-Babuparu ward no. 27. The other patient is a 48 yr old fruit vendor of Dangipara ward no. 6 and his 10 year old son. The other one of Siliguri is the person of Patiramjote.

Other Covid-19 positive patients are, 1 doctor of NBMCH (resident of Kolkata), 1 driver of Chennai and 1 patients of Alipurduar related to the kidney patient. These two have tested negative for the first time.  

32 year patient of Pratiramjote Matigara in SIliguri had been to Assam to take back his wife and Son. He was not keeping well when he reached there on 17th May, so his Covid-19 test was done. But he with his family left the place before his test result was out and arrived at Siliguri on 18 May. His result came to be positive and the health department searched for him in his in laws place in Jorehat. Authorities couldnot find him there and the health officials contacted their counterpart in Darjeeling and accordingly he was informed and brought to Dr. Chang’s hospital. His wife and son though tested negative are in isolation at NBMCH.  

17 contacts of this patient including his family members are sent to isolation quarantine facilities.

As of now there are 54 Covid-19 patients in North Bengal, and they are as follows- 1 patient in Jalpaiguri, 13 in Uttar Dinajpur, 3 in Dakshin Dinajpur, 30 (36-6) in Malda, 7 in Darjeeling admitted in different district COVID-19 Hospitals. 1 of Bangladesh and found in Coochbehar had died and cremated today.

NBMCH

Presently there are 5 patients in the Isolation ward of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. They are under observation in the Isolation ward. 2 of them are the wife and the son of the patient of PatiramJote. Others are 2 patients of Jalpaiguri and Bhaktinagar in the Isolation ward of maternity department. Three swab collection centres are being started  in Siliguri town.

All of the above patients have symptoms related to respiratory problems and similar to Covid-19 and their test result is awaited. 2568   (yesterday 2490) in home quarantine. 

GTA

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 22 May 2020:  In the GTA area, 148 persons are in institutional as follows: 

Institutional quarantine facilities:-

In Marwari Bhawan, Kalimpong 19 admitted.

In ITI Upper Fagu, Gorubathan, 50 are admitted 

In Mungpoo ITI at Takdah 6 persons.

25 persons are admitted at Batasia TB centre, 

14 are admitted in Old Railway Hospital of Kurseong. 

At Pokhriabong PHC 14 are admitted. 

At Mirik College, 20 are admitted. (Contacts of an Assam's Covid 19 patient who came to Saureni of Mirik at her parents home and had returned to her husband's home at Jorhat of Assam )

148 (yesterday 157) patients are now in 8 different institutional quarantines. 

With the home coming of students and other people from other states, the number of people in home quarantine at their residence in the district of Darjeeling is 1590 while in Kalimpong district it is 978. 

Altogether there are 2490 (yesterday 2252) persons are in home quarantine. Those who recently came from different states are now kept in the institutional quarantines till their swab test result confirms their negative to Covid-19. Swab testing so far has tested negative of all the travellers.

As the number of trains is increasing so is the number of returnees from other states. GTA may require more number of institutional quarantine facilities to accomodate them till their test results are received by them. So far GTA has arranged 22 institutional quarantine facilities. Some hotel owners and Roman Catholic Diocese have provided their accomodations for their accomodation.

STATE 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 22 May 2020: In the state new cases 135 (1 day before-94 , 2 days before- 142) and 6 death (1 day before-6 , 2 days before-3) and 28 recovery (1 day before-57, 2 days before-62) is recorded today. The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 3332 (1 day before-3197 , 2 days before-3103) while active cases is 1846 (1 day before-1745 , 2 days before-1714) and death toll till now is 193 (1 day before-187 , 2 days before-181).

There is 72 death due to Co-morbidity while 1221 (1 day before- 11932, days before-1136) are released after recovery. 

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 30 ICMR testing labs is being done at a very good rate and today 5355 (1 day before- 4242, 2 days before--8720) samples within 24 hour were tested that tally 120599 (1 day before- 115244, 2 days before-111002) till now since day 1.    

Today 98456 persons (1 day before-96548, 2 days before- 94722) are currently under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and total 171954 persons (1 day before-169526, 2 days before-167211) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance. 

Number of people released from home quarantine was 73498 (1 day before-77978, 2 days before-72849). 

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 14614 persons (1 day before-13044, 2 days before-12661) and so far from these centres 36651 persons (1 day before-35899, 2 days before-34104) were released in the past. 

Currently in the state there are 69 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 16 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
