Baby in train

TT, Malda, Dec. 2: Personnel of the Railway Protection Force found a newborn boy in an unreserved compartment from the Jamalpur-Malda Intercity Express yesterday night in the Malda town station and handed it over for treatment to the Malda Medical College and Hospital.
RPF sources said that investigations have revealed that a woman had abandoned the baby in the compartment and slipped out in one of the stations before the train reached here around 10pm.
"The train arrived around 10pm and passengers alighting at Malda, the last station, contacted our constables and reported a baby had been left behind in the G2, unreserved compartment," said inspector Neeraj Singh of the RPF.
