Funds return

TT, Jalpaiguri, Dec. 2: A shoemaker who invested in a funds mobilising group around three years back got a portion of his investment from the agent on the basis of an order issued by the district consumer disputes redressal forum today.
The court also reprimanded the agent for not attending hearings.
Sources said Roman Das, a 54-year-old shoemaker who runs a shop close to the government treasury office, had invested Rs 8,675 in a funds scheme. "Back in 2014, I had invested the money through Kishore Mustafi," Das said today.
"For the past two-three years, I have met the agent a number of times, asking him to return my money," the shoemaker said. On July 27, Das filed a complaint at the forum against Mustafi and three constituent companies of the funds group, alleging they were not returning his investment.
Mustafi, who was represented by two lawyers, opted to pay Das today after an arrest warrant was issued against his name.
