Five-day national integration camp in Darjeeling
It has been learnt that the NIC for the year 2013-2014, 31 state capital region and 65 NIC’s at various district places across the country have been planned. “One hundred and fifty youths in non-capital NICs and 250 youths in state-capital NICs from different regions and districts of all states/ UTs will come together and participate in multi-fold activities for five days,” said Mr DK Chatterjee, District youth coordinator.
Speaking about the basic aims and objectives of the NIC, Mr Chatterjee said: “It is to create a quality opportunity for young aspirants from different parts of the country to live, interact and learn together in an environment of mutual love and respect and also understand and appreciate people living in different parts of the country.”
“In the event, various traditional folk and traditional cultural performances will be held,” he said.
“Along with it, the five-day event will also cover a rally in traditional attire, cultural seminar, educational tour, quiz competition and many others”, Mr Chatterjee added.
The inauguration function is being held on 11 December at Nepali Sahitya Sammelan.
“This is a nationwide opportunity for the largest ever participation of youths especially non-student rural youth of India,” Mr Chatterjee also said.
The last NIC programme in Darjeeling was held on 2010.
