Tripartite meet fails to end impasse
Deep Gazmer, TNN | Jun 4, 2013, DARJEELING: The tripartite meeting between the state and the central governments and the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) on Monday failed to yield any specific results with the latter refusing to call off their ongoing hunger strike.
However, the discussion will be continued in a bilateral meeting that has been scheduled on July 15.
GJM general secretary Roshan Giri said: "We will apprise our party chief Bimal Gurung about today's meeting and then take a decision on lifting our agitation."

Union additional home secretary S Skandan, on the other hand, termed the meeting "cordial" and requested Morcha members to call off the agitation. "Various issues, including some of the contentious ones, were discussed today while the remaining will be taken up in another round of meeting," he said.
State home secretary Basudeb Basu said that that July's meet will be followed by a tripartite talk in August.
