According to the current vote count, Bharat Kumar Chhetri has secured 27,729 votes, leading by a significant margin of 4,205 votes over Ruden Sada Lepcha of the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha, who has received 23,524 votes so far.

The NOTA (None of the Above) option has received 744 votes.
With a lead exceeding four thousand votes, Bharat Kumar Chhetri has emerged as the clear frontrunner in Kalimpong at this stage of counting. If this trend continues through the remaining rounds, he is well-positioned to secure victory in the constituency.
Darjeeling: In the ongoig counting of votes for the Darjeeling Assembly Constituency in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, Bijoy Kumar Rai of the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) has emerged as the frontrunner, securing 18,206 votes and leading the race by 4,210 votes.
According to the latest trends, Noman Rai of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in second place with 13,996 votes, trailing the BGPM candidate by over four thousand votes.
Independent candidate Ajoy Lucas Edwards remains in third position with 11,498 votes, staying within striking distance but still behind the leader by 6,708 votes.
Other candidates are far behind in the contest. Independent candidate Jatin Ghalay has secured 473 votes, while Milan Thokar of the Rastriya Aam Jan Seva Party has received 408 votes. Madhap Rai of the Indian National Congress is currently at 376 votes.
Meanwhile, NOTA (None of the Above) has attracted 585 votes, indicating a small section of voters chose not to support any listed candidate.
The Darjeeling seat appears to be witnessing a primarily three-cornered contest between BGPM, BJP, and Independent candidate Ajoy Lucas Edwards, though current trends give a clear advantage to BGPM.
