Controversy Erupts in Bengal BJP Over Jagannath Chatterjee’s Facebook Post
Don't Miss
Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, February 15, 2025, Kolkata : A deep controversy has erupted within the Bengal BJP following a Facebook post by party member Jagannath Chatterjee. In his post, he highlighted recommendations made by various party leaders and workers for appointments to the School Service Commission, prominently featuring BJP leader Dibyendu Adhikari, brother of opposition leader Subhendu Adhikari. The revelation has triggered internal strife within the party, further escalating tensions among its members.
Chatterjee’s post also included the name of Bharati Ghosh, adding to the uproar. The disclosure led to widespread unrest in the Bengal BJP, and despite state general secretary’s efforts to diffuse the situation by deleting the post, the internal discord remains unresolved.
Political analysts suggest that this incident may be part of a larger strategy to undermine Subhendu Adhikari and diminish his family’s political influence. In response, Subhendu reacted strongly from Delhi, expressing his discontent over the matter. Following intervention from the central leadership, Jagannath Chatterjee ultimately removed the contentious post.
However, the controversy did not end there. Hindu Samhati president Shantanu Sinha reposted the content, claiming that the original post was intentionally directed at Subhendu. This has further fueled speculation within BJP circles about a growing trust deficit and factionalism within the party.
The situation remains volatile, with party insiders closely watching how the leadership navigates this internal conflict while maintaining political stability in the state.
