Alternative vacancy letters issued to candidates of Upper Primary
MP, 15 Jan 2025, Kolkata: The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has begun issuing recommendation letters with alternative vacancy allocations for Upper Primary candidates who were previously recommended for incorrect vacancies.
Two phases of counselling for the recruitment of assistant teachers at the Upper Primary level concluded on December 23, with 8,651 candidates receiving recommendation letters. However, some candidates faced issues in joining the schools specified in these letters due to non-existence of vacancies in the proper reservation categories.
The state School Education department had provided clarifications on the issue, stating that the non-existence of vacancies should be verified with the concerned schools and reported to WBSSC if the problem is genuine.
District Inspectors of Schools (DI) will then identify alternative vacancies. The Commission has now started issuing recommendation letters based on these alternative vacancies provided by the DIs.
Previously, 27 candidates were issued letters with alternative vacancies, and recently another 20 have received such letters. WBSSC chairman Siddhartha Majumder has confirmed that another 18 recommendation letters will be issued soon.
