State Edu dept begins rationalisation process for govt school teachers

Don't Miss

MP, 15 Jan 2025, Kolkata: The state School Education department has initiated a process to rationalise the deployment of government school teachers by launching a new online portal.
An imbalance in the pupil-teacher ratio (PTR) exists across the state, with some having more teachers than students, while others struggle with too few teachers for large numbers of students.
To address this, the Education department has already begun a teacher rationalisation process, which includes transferring teachers from schools where their numbers are surplus. The department has now initiated the rationalisation process for government school teachers.
A notice issued by the School Education Commissioner on Wednesday directs all school heads to enter their teaching staff’s posting details on a newly-launched online portal by January 20. In addition to the posting details, teachers are required to submit medical information along with supporting documents in accordance with a provided proforma by January 27.
The department has specified that if no medical details or supporting documents are submitted by a teacher within the stipulated time frame, it will be assumed that the teacher has no medical issues to report.
The department has emphasised the need for all regular teachers to be informed of these requirements, with a compliance report to be submitted by January 17
