Second phase of counselling to start from Dec 17

MP, 10 Dec 2024, Kolkata: The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has announced the schedule for the second phase of counselling for the recruitment of assistant teachers at the Upper Primary level in state-aided and sponsored schools.
The counselling sessions will begin on December 17 and will continue until December 23, excluding December 21 (Saturday) and December 22 (Sunday).
The first phase of counselling, which was completed on November 27, saw 6,680 candidates receiving recommendation letters out of the 8,749 merit-listed candidates who were called for counselling.
However, 2,069 candidates either did not attend or declined to accept the recommendation letters.
“The second phase will be held to fill these vacancies which were not filled due to absenteeism and refusal,” said an official. The Upper Primary panel consists of 13,966 candidates, including both merit-listed individuals and those on the waiting list.
After the first phase, 5,217 waitlisted candidates remain. In the second phase, a total of 2,595 candidates from the waiting list have been called. According to the notification, concerned candidates will be able to download the intimation letter for counselling from the WBSSC website on 13 December.
On the same day, the Commission will upload details of the relevant vacancies.
