NBU employees demand regular postings in key appointments
EOI, SILIGURI, MARCH 17, 2023: The North Bengal University Officials' Association and the University Employees' Association on Friday jointly conducted a protest demonstration in the university campus, demanding the posting of a regular Vice-Chancellor in the University.
They protested by closing the gate from inside the administrative building of the university. Professors of all departments, officials and permanent workers joined that movement. Controller of Examinations Debashish Dutta said: "We have faith in the government so far. But if the vice-chancellor, registrar and finance officer are not appointed soon, the university will be completely closed. There will be no electricity, no salary. The test results will not be published."
Incidentally, there are 49 colleges under North Bengal University. The examinations for the first and second years will be due soon exams are ahead. Due to the absence of those three key officials, one problem after another is being created in the university.
