Darjeeling District BJP complains of GTA corruption to Om Birla

YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, FEBRUARY 26, 2023 : President of the Darjeeling District BJP unit Kalyan Dewan at a meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at Taj Cottage in Makaibari, Kurseong, discussed the issues of a permanent political solution for the Darjeeling hills and the “inhuman treatment” of the Gorkhas by the West Bengal Government by way of the distribution of refugee land documents to residents in tea gardens and cinchona plantations.
BJP M.P. of Darjeeling Raju Bista was present in the meeting. Kalyan Dewan said he had also informed the Lok Sabha Speaker of the widespread corruption taking place in the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration.
The Speaker promised to forma parliamentary committee soon and initiate the process of inquiry into the issues. He said the issues of the Gorkhas should be raised before the committee.
