2 dies, 113 in Darj, 16 in Darj Hills, 50 in Plains, 54 in SMC tests positive, 72 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 783 samples- 35 tests positive, 189 recovered from Covid-19.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 26 January 2022: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:

02 died

Arabindo Saha, 70 yr old of Jateswar, Falakatta died today in Covid Block of NBMCH.

Durga Mahanta, 65 yr old of Bhaktinagar, Jalpaiguri, died today in Covid Block of NBMCH. 

Paediatric Ward of NBMCH

26 new children suspected to be infected by Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) and none are suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) is admitted from Coochbehar in pediatric ward of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) during the last 24 hrs,

29 are released today after recovery. 

Presently 2 Children suffering from ARI patients are being treated. 

 

1 child died:

In the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) unit of NBMCH, 1 child died of ailments other than ARI and RSV.

35 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

Out of 783 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 35 tested positive.

 

54 in SMC:

54 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (47 in Darjeeling and 10 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

 

113 in Darjeeling district:

113 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 47 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

16 of the Hills (4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Mirik, 3 in Bijanbari, 4 in Sukhiapokhari, 0 in Takdah)

50 of the plains (18 in Khoribari, 17 in Matigara, 8 in Naxalbari, 4 in Phansidewa, 3 in Sukuna) also test positive.

72 admitted:

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 72 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 41 patients, 21 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 20 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 

There are 4 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 25 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 2 in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and none in surgical isolation ward and none in HDU (Trauma care centre).

During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

189 Discharged:

189 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
