Illegal building demolished in Kalimpong
Don't Miss
YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, AUG 16, 2023 : Kalimpong Municipality has finally started demolishing the illegal construction at 11 mile, implementing a Calcutta High Court order for doing so.
Officials of the Municipality today arrived with bulldozers to demolish the illegal construction at Ward No. 7, 11 Mile, owned by Mohammad Saifullah.
To supervise this work,
Kalimpong Municipal Administrator Ravi Pradhan was
present along with a group of police personnel.
It may be recalled that Bir Bahadur Blone, an 85-
year-old former teacher of Kumudini Homes, filed a
case against this illegal construction in his land. Mohammad
Saifullah accepted the order of the High Court and said
that many illegal constructions are taking place in other
places as well. Punishment should be done in those
places too.
On the other hand, Kalimpong Municipal
Administrator Ravi Pradhan has stated that since 2020,
there have been complaints on the matter and many
hearings had also been held.
