Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall during the week

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 20 June 2021: Major Weather System over the Region Southwest monsoon been Vigorous over Bihar, active over Jharkhand, Sikkim & West Bengal and subdued over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall occurred at one or two places over Bihar. Heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places over Jharkhand, Sikkim, Darjeeling & Kalimpong districts of SubHimalayan West Bengal and East Burdwan & South 24 Parganas districts of Gangetic West Bengal.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim & the districts of West Bengal; at a few places over Odisha and at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The Low pressure area over southeast Uttar Pradesh & neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto midtropospheric levels persists. The trough from west Rajasthan to northeast Bay of Bengal now runs from northwest Rajasthan to northeast Bay of Bengal across south Haryana, center of low pressure area over southeast Uttar Pradesh & neighbourhood, north Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal and extends upto 1.5km above mean sea level. The cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh & neighbourhood extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level has become less marked.

1) Heavy rain (07-11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim and Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar,  Alipurduar districts of SubHimalayan West Bengal.

2) Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

3) Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha.

22 June 

1) Heavy rain (07-11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Odisha.

2) Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

3)Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over Bihar, Odisha and Murshidabad, Nadia, Birbhum, Purulia, West Burdwan, Bankura districts of Gangetic West Bengal.

23 June 

1) Heavy rain (07-11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Odisha and East & West Midnapore, North & South 24 Parganas districts of Gangetic West Bengal.

2) Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

3) Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over Odisha and the districts of Gangetic West Bengal.

24 June

1) Heavy rain (07-11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Odisha, Sikkim and Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, North & South 24 Parganas, East & West Midnapore districts of West Bengal.
