KalimNews, Kalimpong, 6 May 2021: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

9 Death:
Bijay SIngha, 40 yr old patient of Kochumani Jote -Kamala Bagan Phansidewa Siliguri died yesternight in Male Medicine 1 Ward of NBMCH. 
Phalindranath Roy, 55 yr old patient of Kawakhali Siliguri died today in Male Medicine 1 Ward of NBMCH.
Amar Sarkar, 53 yr old patient of Balakamore Siliguri died yesternight in Male Medicine 2 Ward of NBMCH.
Pradip Das, 45 yr old patient of Sushrutnagar Siliguri died today in Male Medicine 1 Ward of NBMCH.
Balmaya Biswakarma, 61 yr old patient of Himul Diary Patherghata Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Dinesh Das, 92 yr old patient of Pati Colony Pradhan Nagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.He was brought dead.
Ruma Mandal, 43 yr old patient of Deshbandhupara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Bikash Ghose, 82 yr old patient of Bharat Nagar Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.
Gita Biswas, 71 yr old patient of Aurobindo nagar Jalpaiguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Total number of swab samples received for Reverse Transcription (RTPCR) Tests from the districts of Darjeeling- 755, Kalimpong- 165, Jalpaiguri– 413, Alipurduar- 243 is 1576.
Of these 470 samples test positive.

268 in SMC:
268 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (196 in Darjeeling and 72 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

693 in Darjeeling district:
Record 693 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 196 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 
91 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (16 in Darjeeling Municipality, 28 in Kurseong Municipality, 27 in Mirik, 14 in Bijanbari, 4 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah).
406 of the plains (120 in Matigara, 141 in Naxalbari, 30 in Khoribari, 70 in Phansidewa, 45 in Sukuna) also test positive.

90 patients in NBMCH:
90 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Out of this 63 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 15 in Covid Block II  (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).(Capacity 203 seats) 
During the last 24 hours 12 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 5 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 4 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward and 3 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward. 

208 Discharged:
208 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
