KalimNews, Kalimpong, 4 May 2021: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:
8 Death:
Supriya Rai, 17 yr old patient of Rongli Tea Estate Teesta Valley died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.Admitted on 3 May.
Hiren Kumar Saha, 65 yr old patient of Pradhan Nagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.Admitted on 26 April.
Mohan Sahani, 68 yr old patient of Jhankar More Siliguri died today in Male Medicine 1 Ward of NBMCH.
Hiren Moy Soren, 45 yr old
patient of Kachakhawa Kishangunj died today in Female Medicine 1 ward of NBMCH.
Lakhan Saha, 58 yr old
patient of Dangipara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Santosh kumar Pal, 75 yr
old patient of Hakimpara Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Check Post Bhaktinagar
Siliguri.
Chaitali Pal, 68 yr old
patient of Hakimpara Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Check Post Bhaktinagar
Siliguri.
Tapasi Chaki, 64 yr old
patient of Aurobindonagar Jalpaiguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke
Road Siliguri.
Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Total number of swab samples received for Reverse Transcription (RTPCR) Tests from the districts of Darjeeling- 963, Kalimpong- 158, Jalpaiguri– 551, Alipurduar- 102 is 1774.
Of these 465 samples test positive.
241 in SMC
241 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (188 in Darjeeling and 53 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
312 in Darjeeling district:
Record 312 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 188 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
24 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (5 in Darjeeling Municipality, 6 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Mirik, 3 in Bijanbari, 5 in Sukhiapokhari, 4 in Takdah).
100 of the plains (53 in Matigara, 33 in Naxalbari, 1 in Khoribari, 9 in Phansidewa, 4 in Sukuna) also test positive.
99 patients in NBMCH
99 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Out of this 68 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 14 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).(Capacity 203 seats)
During the last 24 hours 17 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 5 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 9 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward and 3 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward.
77 Discharged:
77 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
