11 death, 356 of Darjeeling district, 66 of Darjeeling Hills, 92 of Plains, 217 of SMC tested positive, 80 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1456 tests done 81 tested positive, 62 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 29 April 2021: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

11 Death:
Purnima Thapa, 43 yr old of Chunbhatti Kurseong died today in RICU Ward of NBMCH. 
Lina Poddar, 52 yr old patient of Mal Bazar Dt Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Nripen Chandra Talukdar, 60 yr old of Deshbandhupara Siliguri died in RICU Ward of NBMCH.
Tapas Kumar Sarkar, 68 yr old of Aravindapalli Siliguri died in RICU Ward of  NBMCH. 
Mita Aich, 48 yr old of Phansidewa died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 
Gopal Chandra Ghose, 75 yr old of Rabindranagar Siliguri died in a CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. Admitted on 19 April.
Nitai Sarkar, 65 yr old of Rathlkhola a died in HDU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 
Mamima Begum, 36 yr old of Kisangunj Thakurgunj Bihar died in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Kalyan Deb, 55 yr old of Shivmandir died in a nursing home in Hill Cart Road Siliguri.
Sakumbari Prasad, died today in a Safe Home Himanchal Bihar. 
Anjan Kr. Roy, of Ward No. 23 Dabgram Siliguri died today in a nursing home in Hill Cart Road Siliguri.

Test report received from VRD Laboratory at NBMCH
Total number of swab samples received for RTPCR Tests from the districts of Darjeeling- 639, Kalimpong- 122, Jalpaiguri– 370, Alipurduar- 325 is 1456.
Of these 81 samples tested positive.

217 in SMC
217 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (198 in Darjeeling and 19 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

356 in Darjeeling district:
Record 356 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 198 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 
66 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (14 in Darjeeling Municipality, 14 in Kurseong Municipality, 13 in Mirik, 12 in Bijanbari, 11 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah).
92 of the plains (48 in Matigara, 31 in Naxalbari, 2 in Khoribari, 4 in Phansidewa, 7 in Sukuna) also tested positive.

80 patients in NBMCH
80 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Out of this, 70 are admitted in the CCU unit of the newly opened Covid Block of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).(Capacity 203 seats)
During the last 24 hours 10 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 4 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward and 4 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward. 

62 Discharged:
62 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
