5 death (3 of Kalimpong, 1 of Siliguri, 1 of Bihar); 22 of Hills (12 of Kalimpong and 10 of Darjeeling), 96 of SMC infected, 77 Active cases in GTA

61 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 12 in Kalimpong, 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Pulbazar and 7 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 7 in Sukuna, 3 in Khoribari,  14 in Matigara, 8 in Naxalbari tested positive. 32 in Alipurduar, 85 in Coochbehar, 133 in Jalpaiguri, 53 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 12 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

5 Death: 5 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district.

Dhan Kumar Pradhan, 68 yr old of Mal Busty Gorubathan -Kalimpong ;

Gopal Chhetri, 68 yr old of Tista Bazar ; and

Gopal Sharma, 69 yr old of Upper Bong Busty Kalimpong  (Admitted on 9^th November from Tribeni Covid Hospital) died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

Sambhu Kumar Deb, 48  yr old of Purnadhara Kishangunj ; and

Dilip Roy, 69  yr old of Dasrathpalli Janatanagar Bhaktinagar died in Desun Covid Hospital

48 of SMC:

48 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (41 of Darjeeling and 7 of Jalpaiguri district) tested positive. 

83 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 83 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 41 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 10 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Pulbazar and 7 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 7 in Sukuna, 3 in Khoribari,  14 in Matigara, 8 in Naxalbari tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 139 new cases, 13119 confirmed cases of which 11910 have recovered and 155 died while 1054 are active cases.

12 in Kalimpong: 3 death, 12 new cases, 31 release from Kalimpong is reported. 

So far as per record 23 people died of Covid 19 in Kalimpong district though it does not tally with the state's record. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 12 new cases, 1582 confirmed cases of which 1500 have recovered, 19 died and 63 are active cases.

53 in Malda:  1 death, 53 new case, 101 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 53 new cases, 10618 confirmed cases of which 9908 have recovered and 91 died and 619 are active cases.

32 in Alipurduar:32 new cases, 34 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 32 new cases, 6799 confirmed cases of which 6549 have recovered and 79 died while 171 are active cases.

85 in Coochbehar: 85 new cases with 73 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records  101 new cases, 9706 confirmed cases of which 8855 have recovered, 57 died and 794 are active cases.

133 in Jalpaiguri: 1 death, 133 new cases, 147 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 133 new cases, 10378 confirmed cases of which 105 died while 9846 have recovered and 787 are active cases.

61 Discharged: After testing negative and recovery 61 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 22 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 12 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 7 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 3 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 of Lopchu T.G. and 1 of Topkhana Kalimpong are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 78 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 13 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 15 patients are newly admitted and 4 are released.

At Dr.Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of   Tamsang, Dudhia, Kurseong, Marybong TG, Mahanadi, Naya Bazar, Kurseong, Methibari Sukuna, 2 of  St. Mary’s Hill, Chhota Kagjhora Darjeeling, Lava Suntalay and Sangsay Kaman, GTA area are admitted.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 75 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 8 patients are newly admitted, 3 are released.

1 each of Subedar Busty Kurseong, Sibitar T.E, Singel T.E, Sepoy Dhura, and Gumbahatta, Relli Road, Sinji Busty Kalimpong of GTA area are admitted. 

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

55 patients are admitted of which 13 are in ICU and are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 32 are Covid patients. 7 patients are released.

3 of Mirik GTA admitted.

3 from Mirik and 2 of Kurseong admitted.

7 patients of Darjeeling and 27 from Kalimpong are admitted, 3released and 2 referred out in this hospital.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 613 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 642 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1255.

There are 21 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and NBMCH outside GTA area, 34 in GTA area and 17 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 5 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 77 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
