3 die (1 each of Siliguri, Sikkim and Kurseong); 27 of Hills (4 of Kalimpong and 23 of Darjeeling), 70 of SMC infected

130 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 17 in Kalimpong, 4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 11 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 Sukhiapokhari, 6 in Mirik and 1 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 6 in Sukuna, 2 in Khoribari, 26 in Matigara, 12 in Naxalbari, and 11 in Phansidewa tested positive. 10 in Alipurduar, 37 in Coochbehar, 40 in Jalpaiguri and 30 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 19 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

3 Death: 

3 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district. They are-

Sushil Kumar Das, 60 yr old of Narayan Majumdar Sarani War No. 35 SMC;

Maili Thing, 77 yr old of Long View TG Kurseong died in Desun Covid Hospital.

Chanda Ansari, 45 yr old of Naya Bazar Jorethang Sikkim (admitted on 8 November) died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

70 of SMC:

70 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (39 in Darjeeling and 31 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

 

119 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 119 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 39 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 23 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 11 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 Sukhiapokhari, 6 in Mirik and 1 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 6 in Sukuna, 2 in Khoribari, 26 in Matigara, 12 in Naxalbari, and 11 in Phansidewa tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 128 new cases, 14140 confirmed cases of which 13162 have recovered and 164 died while 814 are active cases.

4 in Kalimpong:

4 new cases, 14 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 4 new cases, 1664 confirmed cases of which 1603 have recovered, 19 died and 42 are active cases.

30 in Malda:  

30 new case reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 51 new cases, 11000 confirmed cases of which 10544 have recovered and 94 died and 362 are active cases.

 

10 in Alipurduar:

10 new cases, 30 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 13 new cases, 7000 confirmed cases of which 6798 have recovered and 80 died while 122 are active cases.

37 in Coochbehar: 

37 new cases, 51 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 47 new cases, 10092 confirmed cases of which 9727 have recovered, 57 died and 308 are active cases.

40 in Jalpaiguri: 

1 death, 40 new cases release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 171 new cases, 11379 confirmed cases of which 118 died while 10502 have recovered and 759 are active cases.

130 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 130 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 27 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 13 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 12 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 2 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 of Lopchu T.G., 1 of Redhead TG Ghoom  and 1 of Dalpchand Kalimpong are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s  SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 78 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 20 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 11 patients are newly admitted and 11 are released.

At Dr.Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Marybong TG, Kurseong, Lower Dumaram, PV Road Kurseong, Krishnanagar Mirik, Jasbir Gaon Mirik, , Mirik Busty, Bijanbari, Reshab Dhura Rangli, 2 each of Phuguri Mirik, Jowahar Busty Toongsoong Darjeeling, Kagjhora Darjeeling and Upper Pradhan gaon Kalimpong, and Bong Busty Kalimpong, ICICI Bank Kalimpong GTA area are admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 72 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 7 patients are newly admitted, 9 are released.

1 each of Longview TE Kurseong, Sibitar T.E Kurseong, Singel T.E, Sepoy Dhura, Makaibari,  Bijanbari  of GTA area are admitted.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 613 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 609 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1222.

There are 26 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 27 in GTA area and 4 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 4 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 61 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
