4 of Siliguri, 2 of Falakatta, 1 of Jaigaon, 1 of Coochbehar died, 119 in Darjeeling. 63 recovered from Covid-19, 119 of Darjeeling, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 10 in Kalimpong, 4 in Darjeeling, 9 in Kurseong, 3 in Pulbazar,  6 in Takdah and 3 in Mirik.. Of the plains they are- 4 in Sukuna, 18 in Matigara, 13 in Naxalbari, 3 in Phansidewa and 15 in Khoribari, 83 in Alipurduar, 67 in Jalpaiguri, 99 in Coochbehar, 120 in Malda tested positive.

5 Death: 5 deaths reported during the last 24 hours in Covid hospitals of Darjeeling district.

Ashoke Khati, 55 yr old of Murgihatta Kalimpong (admitted on 5 October),

Arun Sarkar, 75 yr old of Kalabari TE of Banarhat,  Raj Devi Thakur, 45 yr old of died Haftiagunj of Uttar Dinajpur in Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital.

Basudeb Kundu, 65 yr old of Sukantapalli Ward No 33 died in RICU of NBMCH

Manohar Das, 82 yr old of Dabgram Ward No 23 died in a nursing home.

87 of SMC:

87 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (53 in Darjeeling and 34 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive.

131 of Darjeeling district:

Of the 131 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 53 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 25 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are - 4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 9 in Kurseong Municipality, 3 in Pulbazar,  6 in Takdah and 3 in Mirik.. Of the plains they are- 4 in Sukuna, 18 in Matigara, 13 in Naxalbari, 3 in Phansidewa and 15 in Khoribari, tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district with 95 new cases has 8634 confirmed cases of which 7716 have recovered and 115 died while 803 are active cases. 

10 of Kalimpong: 

Ashok Khati of Murgihatta Ward no 11 died on 8th October, his death is the 11th death of Kalimpong district due to Covid-19. Officially his death is recorded as 7th death while other three are termed as death due to comorbidities. 10 new case from Kalimpong reported, State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district with 21 new cases has 1094 confirmed cases of which 949 have recovered, 7 died and 135 are active cases. 

120 of Malda: 

120 new cases, 68 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda with 82 new cases has 7465 confirmed cases of which 6681 have recovered and 56 died and 728 are active cases.

83 of Alipurduar:

83 new cases, 74 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar with 66 new cases has 5193 confirmed cases of which 4565 have recovered and 65 died while 563 are active cases. 

99 of Coochbehar: 

99 new cases with 110 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar with 92 new cases has 6500 confirmed cases of which 5677 have recovered, 43 died and 780 are active cases. 

67 of Jalpaiguri: 

3 died, 67 new cases 73 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri with 83 new cases has 6714 confirmed cases of which 65 died while 5928 have recovered and 721 are active cases.  

63 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 63 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and other from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

18 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 3 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 12 in Female -Gynecological Isolation ward, 3 patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 of Kumai and 1 of Samabeong TE Lava are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

In Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 116 Covid-19 patients are admitted (Only 4 seats vacant). At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 3 of Mirik, 1 each of Naya Bazar Kurseong,  Saureni Mirik, Darjeeling Sadar, Kutchery Road, Kurseong, Badamtam TE, and 1 each of Sadhudhara, Tripai, East Main Road, Kalimpong,  and Munsong of GTA area are admitted.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 81 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 16 patients are newly admitted and 20 released.

1 each of Montiviot Road Kurseong and 9^th Mile Kalimpong of GTA area are admitted. 

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

55 patients are admitted of which 13 are in ICU and are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 32 are Covid patients. 7 patients are released. 25 patients are being treated in its Safe home.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 1046 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 637 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1683.

There are 25 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital outside GTA area, 20 in GTA area and 28 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 1 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 74 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.

Number of Covid patients in the six districts of North Bengal

Today’s daily state bulletin regarding the report of the last 24 hrs stated that Darjeeling district with 113 new cases has 8747 confirmed cases of which 7809 have recovered and 117 died while 821 are active cases. 

Similarly Kalimpong district with 29 new cases has 1120 confirmed cases of which 964 have recovered, 8 died and 148 are active cases. 

Alipurduar with 83 new cases has 5276 confirmed cases of which 4639 have recovered and 66 died while 571 are active cases. 

Jalpaiguri with 67 new cases has 6781 confirmed cases of which 65 died while 6001 have recovered and 715 are active cases. 

Coochbehar with 98 new cases has 6598 confirmed cases of which 5763 have recovered, 43 died and 792 are active cases. 

Malda with 120 new cases has 7585 confirmed cases of which 6769 have recovered and 57 died and 759 are active cases.
