District report- Recovery- 57, Death – 4; Positive cases - 71 of Darjeeling dist.(23 of SMC 9 of Darjeeling, 6 of Bijanbari, 5 of Lodhoma- Rimbick, 2 of Sukuna, 8 of Matigara, 4 Khoribari, 14 of Naxalbari), 77 of Malda, 26 of Jalpaiguri, 12 of Alipurduar, 83 of Coochbehar, tested positive

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 7 August 2020: 

4 died : 4 patients died in different hospitals within 24 hrs.  They are- Runu Das, 35 yrs of Hari Krishna palli - Lower Bagdogra died in Desun Hospital ICU, Manju Gupta 65 yrs, of Santoshi nagar Ward no.5 died in RICU of NBMCH, 80 yrs of Naxalbari and 82 yrs of Hyderpara died in RICU of NBMCH.

23 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation: During the last 24 hrs 23 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation under the district of Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri tested positive. They are from 2 of Ward Nos.11, 13, 22 ; 1 of Ward Nos.8, 10, 12, 16, 17, 20, 25, 27, 29, 39, 40, 41, 42, 46, Milan Palli,  Santoshinagar, Champasari. 

48 of Darjeeling district:  9 of Darjeeling Municipality, 6 of Bijanbari, 5 of Lodhoma- Rimbick, 2 of Sukuna, 8 of Matigara,  4 of Khoribari, 14 of Naxalbari (12 of Bengdubi army camp, a PGTG lady doctor of anesthesia department of NBMCH tested positive and admitted in a Safe home for isolation) .

77 of Malda:  77 new cases reported today from Malda including 2 BSF personnel. There are 2703 Confirmed cases, 1729 have recovered and 18 died and 946 are active cases. 

12 of Alipurduar: 12 new cases reported in the districts that includes 11 police personnel and police officers. In the district there are 450 Confirmed cases, 283 recovered, 14 died and 207active cases. 

83 of Coochbehar:  83 new cases of Covid 19 infection is reported today. The complete report of the district is 1115 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and 1 of them had died, 841 recovery and 273 active cases 

26 of Jalpaiguri: 26  new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. It includes 3 of Jalpaiguri, 4 of Mal, 3 of Oodlabari, 3 police personnel of Dabgram Rajgunj (till now 102 were infected), 2 of Matelli, 1 of Kranti, 10 of Dhupguri. In the district there are 1641 confirmed cases of which 1199 have recovered, 11 died and 431 active cases. 

57 Discharged : After testing negative twice and recovery, 27 patients from Dr. Chhang’s Covid Super specialty hospital, 7 from Desun Covid hospital, 4 from Nivedita nursing home and others from Safe homes and home isolation were discharged today.

NBMCH:  28 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

There are 1 patient in Isolation ward-I, 6 patients in Surgical Isolation ward, 8 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU), and 13 in Gynecological Isolation ward are admitted. 3 died during the last 24 hrs. 

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital: At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 55 patients are admitted today in this hospital at Himanchal Vihar of which 25 are newly admitted while 27 (including 2 of Kurseong) are released. 

DESUN Covid Hospital: In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 61 Covid-19 patients are admitted of which 17 patients are being treated in ICU. 9 are newly admitted and 7 are released.

1 of Kurseong is admitted in this hospital.

NIVEDITA Nursing Home: 47 patients are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 34 are Covid patients.

4 are released.

HATIGHISA SAFE HOUSE :Nil from GTA.

BATASIA SAFE HOUSE, KHORIBARI : 1 of Bagora Kurseong from GTA is admitted.

LIMBUTARY SAFE HOME, PHANSIDEWA: 1 patient of Lower Echchhey Kalimpong is admitted.

TRIBENI Covid Hospital: 4 patients of Kalimpong and 18 from Darjeeling are admitted in and 10 are released from this hospital. Government of West Bengal has upgraded this hospital from SARI II to SARI IV. 

BATASIA TB HOSPITAL SAFE HOME: 12 Covid patients of Darjeeling are being treated here.

SB DEY SANATORIUM HOSPITAL SAFE HOME: 13 Covid patients of Darjeeling are being treated here.

DISHA SAFE HOME: 13 Covid patients of Kalimpong district are admitted and being treated here.

ITI SAFE HOME, Gorubathan: 4 Covid patients of Gorubathan are being treated here. 

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES: The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 991 and in Kalimpong district is 568, the tally of GTA area stands to 1559. 

Altogether there are 45 persons in 3 institutional facility quarantines and 42 in 4 Safe Homes of GTA.

Number of Covid patients in the eight districts of North Bengal: Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 2750 confirmed cases of which 1918 have recovered and 34 died while 798 are active cases. 

Similarly Kalimpong district has 111 confirmed cases of which 81 have recovered, 1 died and 29 are active cases. 

Alipurduar has 546 confirmed cases of which 323 have recovered and 4 died while 219 are active cases. 

Jalpaiguri has 1641 confirmed cases of which 13 died while 1199 have recovered and 429 are active cases. 

Coochbehar has 11137 confirmed cases of which 740 have recovered, 0 died and 397 are active cases. 

Malda has 2802 confirmed cases of which 2have recovered and 16 died and 626 are active cases.

Uttar Dinajpur has 1277 confirmed cases of which 1086 have recovered and 13 died and 178 are active cases.

Dakshin Dinajpur has 1649 confirmed cases of which 1109 have recovered and 11 died and 529 are active cases.
