KalimNews, Kalimpong, 2 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

Gayatri Paswan, 50 yr old of Pradhan Nagar Siliguri died of mucormycosis last night in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. She had an operation last
Anjali Byapari, 40 yr old of Milanpalli Belakoba Rajgunj died of mucormycosis last night in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. She had co- morbidities.
Phanibhusan Mandal, 75 yr old of Jyotirmoy Colony Balason Phansidewa died due to suicide today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Ila Das, 67 yr old of Kotwali Thana Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Amar Kumar Pal, 70 yr old of Shantinagar Dabgram Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Priyanka Verma, 50 yr old of Sevoke Road Sashtrinagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Nirmaya Gurung, 82 yr old of Namring TE Darjeeling died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Priyanka Sarkar, 20 yr old of Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Sarala Chhetri, 75 yr old of Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Subhra Chakraborty, 59 yr old of Sukanta Palli Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.
538 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
1789 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 617, Kalimpong- 199, Jalpaiguri- 503, Alipurduar- 460. Of these samples 538 test positive.
97 in SMC:
97 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (79 in Darjeeling and 18 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
340 in Darjeeling district:
340 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 79 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
76 of the Hills (4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 11 in Kurseong Municipality, 40 in Mirik, 15 in Bijanbari, 4 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah).
185 of the plains (85 in Matigara, 30 in Naxalbari, 18 in Khoribari, 45 in Phansidewa, 7 in Sukuna) also test positive.
110 patients in NBMCH: (314 beds)
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 110 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 92 patients of which 42 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 21 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 25 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 4 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 8 in surgical isolation ward.
In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 14 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 7 patient in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 7 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1.
New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.
470 Discharged:
470 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
