4 dies of Covid : 

Abdul Hamid Pathan, 70 year of Belgachhi Panighatta - Mirik sub-division died in the RICU of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) today, Paresh Mandal,  65 yr of Ananda Nagar Maynaguri - Jalpaiguri district died in the Desun Hospital at Kawakhal. 85 yr of NJP and 62 yr of Subhaspalli also died during the last 24 hours.

28 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation: During the last 24 hrs 28 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (15 of Darjeeling and 13 of Jalpaiguri) tested positive. 

They are 3 of Ward nos.2, 41; 2 of Ward nos.8 (9 and 7 yrs), 23, 44; 1 each of Ward nos.3, 9, 12, 14, 25, 30, 37, 39, 46, NJP Bhaktinagar and others tested positive. 

 

59 of Darjeeling district

In the district 59 cases were reported during the last 24 hrs. Of the 59 cases 15 were from Siliguri Municipal Corporation while rest 44 were from the hill areas of the Darjeeling district. They are 4 in Kurseong sub-division, 5 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Mirik, 1 in Sukna, 18 in Naxalbari, 10 in Matigara and 5 in Khoribari tested positive.

Darjeeling district has 3683 confirmed cases of which 2876 have recovered and 52 died while 755 are active cases. 

 

Nil of Kalimpong district: No positive is reported from Kalimpong.

There are 314 confirmed cases of which 145 have recovered, 1 died and 168 are active cases. 

297 confirmed cases of which 121 have recovered, 2 died and 175 are active cases. 

 

59 of Malda:  1 died, 59 new cases reported today from Malda. Malda has 3978 confirmed cases of which 3069 have recovered and 21 died and 888 are active cases.

 

7 of Alipurduar:  7 new cases reported. In the district there are 979 confirmed cases of which 640 have recovered and 6 died while 333 are active cases. 

 

38 of Coochbehar:  38 new cases of Covid 19 infection with 53 recovery is reported today. The complete report of the district is, 1788 confirmed cases of which 1358 have recovered, 1 died and 429 are active cases.

83 of Jalpaiguri:  1 died. 83 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. 5 of Jalpaiguri central correctional home, 3 of Maynaguri, 5 of Malbazar, 3 of Dhupguri, 1 of Nagarkatta.

Jalpaiguri has 2271 confirmed cases of which 22 died while 1722 have recovered and 527 are active cases. 

 

45 Discharged: 

After testing negative and recovery, from Dr. Chhang’s Covid Super specialty hospital, Desun Covid hospital, and other Safe homes and home isolation 45 were discharged today.

 

NBMCH

25 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

There is 4 in Surgical Isolation, 4 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU), and 17 in Female -Gynecological Isolation ward are admitted, one died in NBMCH. 

 

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 56 patients are admitted today in this hospital at Himanchal Vihar of which 14 are newly admitted while 10 are released. 

9 of Kurseong admitted.

 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 55 Covid-19 patients are admitted of which 8 patients are newly admitted.  

1 each from Dr Zakir Hussain Road Darjeeling, and Kurseong are admitted in this hospital. 

1 of Dudhia is released.

 

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

48 patients are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 32 are Covid patients.

4 are released.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 1091 and in Kalimpong district is 681, the tally of GTA area stands to 1862. 

Altogether there are 8 persons in 1 institutional facility quarantine.

There are 12 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospitals outside GTA area, 61 in GTA area and 86 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, the tally being 157 as active cases.
