Record highest spike of increase in new cases and active cases

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 11 June 2020: Todays report issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of West Bengal states a record highest spike of increase in new cases and active cases. 

In the state 440 new cases (1 day before-343, 2 days before- 372) as well as  10 death (1 day before-17, 2 days before-10) and 209 recovery (1 day before-159, 2 days before-155) is recorded today.

The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 9768 (1 day before-9328, 2 days before-8985) while active cases is 5338 (1 day before-5117, 2 days before-4950). The death toll from the disease till now is 442 (1 day before-432, 2 days before-415).

After recovery of the infection 3988 (1 day before-3779, days before-3620) are released from the hospital and the rate of recovery has increased to 40.82%

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 43, ICMR testing labs is being done at a very good rate and today 9522 (1 day before-9519, 2 days before-7802) samples within 24 hour were tested that tally 306941 (1 day before-297419, 2 days before-287900) till now since day 1.   

Today 156392 persons (1 day before-155824, 2 days before-156903) are currently under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and total 271014 persons (1 day before-268221, 2 days before-267080) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 114622 (1 day before-112397, 2 days before-110137).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are   18671 persons (1 day before-20275, 2 days before-22106) and so far from these centres 75612 persons (1 day before-73406, 2 days before-69904) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 69 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 16 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.

Today’s daily state bulletin also states that Darjeeling district has 210 confirmed cases of which 52 have recovered and 3 died while 155 are active cases. Similarly Kalimpong district has 47 confirmed cases of which 11 have recovered, 1 died and 35 are active cases. 

Alipurduar has 40 confirmed cases of which 7 have recovered while 33 are active cases. Jalpaiguri has 169 confirmed cases of which 32 have recovered and 137 are active cases. Coochbehar has 221 confirmed cases of which 71 have recovered and 150 are active cases
