2 Covid patient dies- 31 patients recovered,19 from Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts tests positive
2 dead: Two Covid positive patients died today of Comorbid symptoms. One patient of Champasari was admitted with liver problem and another 55 years patient of Nagarkatta with respiratory symptoms. They had SARI symptoms, and admitted yesterday in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) unit, later they tested positive to Covid-19 and died today.
Released: 31 patients released from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital after testing negative.
12 of Kalimpong tested positive: A 21 yr female of Upper Bhoteydhara of ward no. 11 of Kalimpong municipality tested positive. She was studying in Kolkata and had returned from Kolkata.
Other 11 positive patients are from Gorubathan block and include patients from Mal Busty, Shermali, Mission Hill, Suruk, 46 Block of Gairibas and Rongo and a civic police from Kumai. Of the 11, one is from Lankapara who had been staying in Suruk.
7 from Darjeeling: 7 cases of positive infection have been reported from Siliguri Municipal Corporation of the Darjeeling district. Of them 2 are of a family from ward no.26. Others are from ward no. 4, 18, 37, 42 and 46. One patient is from Samarnagar and one is a nurse of OT of NBMCH.
All are admitted today at 2 Covid hospitals in Siliguri. There are 18 patients of SMC area in the Covid hospitals.
From other districts reports of testing positive have been reported as follows: 18 from Malda, 1 from Alipurduar, 15 from Coochbehar and 22 of Jalpaiguri
18 from Malda- of the 18 positive patients, 1 doctor, 1 nurse and 1 staff and 12 others are included.
22 of Jalpaiguri tested positive: 22 includes 10 of Nagarkatta, 5 of Matelli and 7 of Mal block. Patients of Mal are one each from ward no. 12 (earlier ward no. 1 and 7), Songachi, Bagrakote, Rangamuttie, Damdim, Sailihat-Hatkhola. Patients of Matelli includes 3 of Samsing and 2 of Jurantee.
Daily swab test report from the Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital under the Indian Council of Medical Research is sent to the district administration and district health department from the night till the day time. District administration prepares separate lists and sends it to the respective blocks.

DESUN hospital has started working as Covid hospital. In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 49 Covid-19 patients are admitted. Of them 9 are in ICU.

In Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital there are 90 patients.
31 patients after testing negative were released today.
24 patients of GTA area are in the Dr. Chhang’s SSC hospital. There are 23 patients, they are -7 of Sonada, 1 of Badal Dhura, 1 of Mirik, 10 of Kurseong, 2 of Darjeeling Municipality, 1 of Bijanbari and 1 of Nagarifarm. 11 of Kalimpong (3 of Kalimpong Municipality, 2 of Nimbong, 1of Upper Dong, 1 of Chandralok, 1 of Kasyom, 1 of Sherpa gaon, 1 of Middle Bong Busty and 1 of Kumai)
3 released today.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 11 June 2020:
Presently in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, more than 50 patients are admitted with symptoms similar to Covid 19.
There are 13 patients in Isolation ward I, 6 patients in gynecological isolation ward while in surgical ward there are 4 patients. Of the 13 patients 5 are Covid-19 positive patients.
GTA
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 11 June 2020:
The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 3087 and in Kalimpong district it is 1466, the tally of GTA area stands to 4553.
Altogether there are 243 persons in 28 institutional facility quarantines of GTA.
Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 210 confirmed cases of which 52 have recovered and 3 died while 155 are active cases. Similarly Kalimpong district has 47 confirmed cases of which 11 have recovered, 1 died and 35 are active cases. Alipurduar has 40 confirmed cases of which 7 have recovered while 33 are active cases. Jalpaiguri has 169 confirmed cases of which 32 have recovered and 137 are active cases. CoochBehar has 221 confirmed cases of which 71 have recovered and 150 are active cases
