5 from Darjeeling, 32 from Coochbehar, 5 from Jalpaiguri and 30 from Uttar Dinajpur districts tests positive to Covid 19 - 2 from Kurseong, 2 from Sonada and 1 from Khoribari tested positive
KalimNews, 29 May 2020, Kalimpong: 72 persons have tested positive from 4 districts of North Bengal.
Corona free Hills after 2 months have again reported to have been infected by the virus. 2 persons of Kurseong and 2 persons of Sonada under Darjeeling didtrict are found to be infected with Corona virus. 1 more patient is recorded from Khoribari.
As per the VRDL report taken from swab sample of the quarantined persons 2 persons of Kurseong and other 2 from Sonada have tested positive. The two belongs to Pacheng Bazar of Sonada and 1 of Montiviot Road Kurseong and another one from St. Mary's hill of Kurseong. Their sample was collected on 18th May 2020. Their contacts during, before and after the quarantine is being investigated. All the hill patients are asymptomatic.
1 lady cancer patient of Khoribari admitted at Isolation ward of NBMCH, has tested positive. She was a neighbour of the lady who accompanied the lady during their return journey from Mumbai. The lady was admitted at NBMCH on 26 May.
The person will also be admitted today at Dr. Chang's Super Speciality Covid hospital. Their contacts are also being traced out.
32 persons of different areas of Coochbehar are also reported to have been positive to Covid 19. Almost all of the 32 are migrant labourers and more are at quarantine, a source stated.There was a backlog of samples of Coochbehar and they were tested today. However the report is yet to be despatched to Coochbehar.
5 persons of Jalpaiguri are also found to be Covid-19 positive.2 are from Maynaguri. 1 Asha worker aursing trainee returned from Kota are the patients.
30 are also reported of having tested positive to Covid 19 from Uttar Dinajpur which tallys about 150 confirmed cases of the district.
