Siliguri film producer awaits Modi flick nod

“We are waiting for the consent from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We have sent an appeal and hope we will be getting the permission. A script is ready that shows a part of the present PM of India,” Mr Sen, who is a resident of Siliguri, told the Press here last evening.
“The subject of the film is how Yogendra Bhai Patel, belonging to a poverty-stricken family in Gujarat, went on to become the Prime Minister of the country,” according to the director and producer of the proposed film.
“Victor Banerjee will play the role of Yogendra Bhai Patel,” Mr Sen said, adding, “locations for the shooting are mainly Gujarat, while it will also be shot partly in Sikkim and Darjeeling Hills.”
Kolkata-based film director Supriya Sinha said the script for ‘Pradhan Mantri’ has been readied, especially based on Mr Modi’s character. It may be noted that the Bioscope Alosuchi Enterprise brought several actors and actresses and film makers in Siliguri to promote its productions yesterday.
Besides Mr Sinha, other directors, Raj Shekhar Basu, Haradhan Das and Amit Roy Choudhury, actor Abhiraj, Arindam and other actresses, including Jinia Mukherjee, a promising actress in Tollygunj, were present on the occasion.
Directors narrated the storyline of some films, which are being shot, like ‘Love forever,’ ‘Joseph Saheb’ and ‘Ashader Purnima.’ Talking to reporters, Mr Sen and Mr Sinha said: “There is no political affair in the Bengali film ‘Pradhan Mantri’ and no object to go against the Trinamul Congress by screening the film before 2019.”
“Hopefully, chief minister Mamata Banerjee will not lodge an objection,” Mr Sen said. Political relations between Mr Modi and Miss Banerjee will also be a part in the film.
