Keep woollens ready, chill to continue
Prithvijit Mitra | TNN | Nov 28, 2017, KOLKATA: Keep your woolens handy for the prevailing chill will continue for at least 48 hours more.
Even though the cool north wind, that has brought the mercury down in Kolkata since last week has lost strength, the chill hasn't lost its sting yet.
The weather could change on November 29 if a low-pressure forms near the Andamans, according to the Met office. On Monday, Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 15.7 degrees.
"The mercury will continue to hover between 15-16 degrees for the next two days. It shouldn't drop further, but may slide up a little after that. So, the chill will remain," said GK Das, director, Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC).
The Met office has spied a low-pressure near Andamans. It could start developing from November 29, even though it is still too early to predict, said Das. "We are monitoring the system but it will have no immediate impact on the weather in Kolkata," he said.
