Nepalese woman detained for carrying old notes
Prashant Acharya,EOI, SILIGURI, 29 Nov 2016: Jawans of the Sashastra Seema Bal (41 Battalion) arrested a woman from Nepal this evening for possessing Rs4.33 lakh in Indian currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 that have ceased to be legal tender.
The woman was arrested at the Integrated Check Post on the India-Nepal border in Panitanki.
D.K. Singh, Second-In-Command, SSB 41 Battalion, said the woman's citizenship papers were also confiscated before she was handed over to customs officials.
