BJP denying justice to Gorkha people: Hamro Party

YAWAN GURUNG, EOI, MIRIK, JANUARY 17, 2024 :  Hamro Party has joined the Bharat Yodo Nyaya Yatra as the BJP government at the Centre is delaying justice to the Gorkha people, Hamro Party central spokesman Ladup Ghising said on Wednesday. 

He clarified, however, that Hamro Party chief Ajoy Edwards joining the Yatra did not mean that Hamro Party had joined Congress. He said the Hamro Party had supported the Yatra to challenge the BJP so the Gorkha people scattered all over the country received justice.

He said the BJP had never stood up in the interest of the Gorkha community, scattered all over the country. 

Had the BJP government supported the Gorkha people during the agitation of 2017, they would have got justice. Gorkha National Liberation Front supremo Subash Ghisingh had good rapport with Congress. 

That’s why Congress Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had stood by the Gorkha people during the agitation of 1986 and the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council was formed. 

But the BJP government at the Centre had not given anything to the Gorkha people till now. That’s why a dharna was now being staged in Delhi to put pressure on the BJP government.
