Winter not just yet, say experts
An officer of the weather department said that a western disturbance from northern India has had an impact on the onset of winter.
A low pressure trough over the Bay of Bengal is also affecting the weather with citizens are experiencing discomfort at night.
The western disturbances along with the low pressure trough is the reason behind the partly cloudy skies over the city, which is causing the temperature to dip during night.
The low pressure trough is hovering over the southern part of the country and is moving towards the coastal Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. This could also affect the weather in the next couple of days.
Several districts of South Bengal, including Birbhum, Bankura and Midnapore, are also likely to be affected by the low pressure trough.
For the last few days weather remained pleasant with a dip in temperature during the early morning hours.
Even people were seen with light winter clothes during the early hours, but the temperature surged at night.
Weather experts said that it is because of the changing pattern in the weather for the last few years that winter is delayed. However, the sky would remain cloudy in the next couple of days with light rain in some areas.
