Efforts for a single dev board 0f hill Communities
SNS, Kurseong 15 December: The Gurung Tamu Youth Association, Kurseong, has sent a letter to different communities and organiaations, who are demanding development boards for respective Hill communities of Darjeeling asking them to press for a single development board for the all Hill communities.
Talking to the reporters, the association, secretary, Dipankar Gurung said yesterday at a meeting in Kurseong they decided to invite all the different communities of the Gorkha race mainly those communities who have been demanding development boards for their respective communities.
They have been asked to demand a single development board for the entire Gorkha Community. He said they have arranged a meeting at Gorkha Jan Pustakalay in Kurseong on 21 December.
He also informed that they invited13 different communities organisations or representatives, like, Newar, Khas, Khambu Rai, Bhujel, Sherpa, Bhutia, including the organizations or communities who have already obtained their respective communities development board, like the Lepchas and Tamangs.
