Bangladesh-India Dialogue held in Dhaka
PR, KalimNews, 3 Dec:The 6th Bangladesh-India Dialogue was held in Dhaka from 30 Nov – 1 December 2014.
Abdul Hassan Mohammad Ali, Foreign Minister of Bangladesh with Prof Mahendra P Lama, and (from left) Ambassador Farooq Sobhan, former Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh, and other Indian delegates included noted Journalist C Rajamohan, Joyota Bhattacharya Observer Research Foundation, Saurav Kumar, Joint Secretary in the National Security Council and RK Shukla former Director General of Police of Tripura and SSB.
This was organised by Bangladesh Enterprise Institute, a prominent think tank in Bangladesh.
On the Indian side, it was organised by Observer Research Foundation which is a noted research institution in India funded by Anil Ambanis led Reliance Group. This dialogue examined the state of relationship between Bangladesh and India with a special focus on promoting regional security.
It explored cooperation and collaboration between the two countries with a view to promoting common and shared developmental and security objectives. Shri Abdul Hassan Mohammad Ali, Foreign Minister of Bangladesh inaugurated the Dialogue on 30th November in Dhaka.
Prof Mahendra P Lama, India’s representative in the South Asia Forum set up by the 16th SAARC Summit leaders in Bhutan in 2010 was a member of the 10 member Indian delegation. Prof Lama made statements on natural resources sharing and cross border security implications.
Earlier Prof Lama also attended Pakistan Conference in Islamabad.
