Comeback plans,,,, Kurseong actor plans big in the USA

SNS, Kurseong, 8 September 2014: Veteran actor and director of the Nepali film industry, Bonny Pradhan, is now planning to make a comeback after a gap of more than six years. Mr Pradhan, who had reportedly isolated himself from the industry following the Maoist insurgency in neighbouring Nepal, said he will be back with two films that will be shot in the USA. 

Mr Pradhan has acted and worked in some popular Hindi films like Safed Haati, Barsaat Ki Ek Raat, Gharwali Baharwali and Pukar, as well as in several Nepali films mainly in the 80s & 90s like Bansuri, Tilahri and Jhora. Mr Pradhan, a permanent resident of Kurseong, has lived and worked in Mumbai and Nepal in the past many decades. 

Talking to reporters here a few days ago, before he left for the US, he said that for the past several years, he has been staying and working in a private institute as a cashier in Virginia in the US. He further said that he had contributed to Nepali documentaries that were meant to spread awareness among the people on various issues. 

The documentaries were also screened in the USA, and as such, he got a “special permit” to stay in the USA. While one story he plans will be based on Lord Buddha, another is based on a Sherpa mountaineer, who conveys a message that mountaineers do not hanker after money and other facilities.
