Will work on Modi’s promises: Ahluwalia
SNS, Siliguri, 18 June 2014: BJP MP from Darjeeling, SS Ahluwalia, today said he will work for the development of his constituency.
According to him, whatever assurances Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made during his election campaign at Matigara, near Siliguri, on 10 April for the development of the region would be fulfilled.
“My aim is to work for people who voted me in and also those who did not vote for me in the Lok Sabha polls in the constituency. We will also work to implement what Mr Modi said during his election campaign here in terms of development.
We need to work for the development of the tea industry and tourism in the Hills,” Mr Ahluwalia told reporters on the sidelines of a felicitation he was accorded by various committees of the BJP here today.
He said the Trinamul Congress feared BJP in the state.
Mr Ahluwalia said the state government had been unnecessarily delaying the panchayat and civic body polls in the state.
