Police exposes flesh trade at Salugara; 7 arrested

EOI, Siliguri, 6 April 2014: Bhaktinagar police today arrested three men and four women from a hotel near Salugara for alleged involvement in flesh trade. Police sources said a raid was conducted at the hotel on basis of information from a secret source. Currently, the accused are being interrogated for further details on the racket.
Sources further said the activities were being secretly undertaken since the last few days. Hotel owner Karma Sherpa has also been arrested following the raid. Besides, one of the accused Mukesh Kumar is a defence official serving the Kalimpong region. Kumar was arrested with Kishor Das and Jayanta Das residents of the Eastern bypass and Kumargram regions respectively.
The arrested women are Laxmi Das from Dinhata, Roma Begum from Malbazar and Soni Jha from Siliguri. All the seven will be presented at the Jalpaiguri court tomorrow, added sources.
