Trinamool could file rape charge against me: Bhattacharya
EOI, SILIGURI, 17 Aug 2015: Siliguri mayor Ashok Bhattacharya on Monday said the ruling Trinamool Congress could file a false case of rape against him.
Speaking to media persons, he said, “The Trinamool Congress on Saturday filed a false molestation case against me. Rape charge is the next step.”
Bhattacharya said the Trinamool was scheming to implicate him with false charges like it has done on earlier occasions.
Answering a question, he expressed sadness on such an act saying it was not a good sign for a healthy democracy. On the other hand, Trinamool Congress leader Durlav Chakrabarty alleged that during a rally on Saturday, CPM workers passed lewd comments at some women and the mayor encouraged them.
After a while, Bhattacharya laid his hands on a Trinamool woman supporter and pushed her, he added. The Trinamool filed a molestation charge against him for this reason, asserted the Trinamool leader.
