KLO calls bandh following arrest of members
The press release quotes KLO general secretary Kailash Koch as saying: “If the government of Assam and WB will not stop their hunting to the common people and release the arrested people without any condition; we’ll also not sit idly. And; this might compel us to take action against (Bengali refugees) Indian people.” (sic)
Koch has expressed resentment with the police stating the KLO deputy commander-in-chief’s sister and brother-in-law have been arrested along with other Kamatapuri agitators on issues of fake notes and false reasons. He added the bandh will be effective from Sunday 5:00 am to Monday 5:00 am.
Speaking to EOI, Siliguri Police Commissioner Jag Mohan said, “The police will do the needful to ensure safety of the general public.” He confirmed of receiving the KLO press release on Monday evening.
