
Bail petitions of two GTA members rejected

Mrs Chettri had been arrested by Kurseong police yesterday evening and she was produced today before the ACJM Court, Kurseong this morning. According to her lawyer, she was arrested in connection with three to four cases.
One of them is related to a non-bailable case of arson involving forest bungalow located at Dungay Kothi, Mahanadi in Kurseong that was burnt down in 2011.
Mr Thapa had been arrested in connection with several previous cases early this month. He was brought to the ACJM Court, Kurseong from Siliguri jail today. His bail petition was moved but was rejected too.
Today, one additional case of torching a PWD bungalow in Mirik on 5 August was added to the cases pending against him. The latest case is slapped under non-bailable Section-436 of the IPC.
