Two Social Media Content Creators Arrested Over Posts, Granted Bail
The accused, identified as Firoz Al Mamun and Rajesh Mondal, are residents of the Kamradia area under Domkal Police Station and are locally known for creating content on social and political issues.
According to police sources, a recent video content allegedly featuring remarks against the Chief Minister sparked controversy online.
Following a written complaint lodged at Domkal Police Station, police conducted an operation on Sunday night and arrested both from their locality.
Cases were registered against them under relevant sections, and they were produced before a court on Monday.
However, both were later granted bail.
Reacting to the development, local MLA Mustafizur Rahman criticised the action and said interference with freedom of expression was "highly condemnable".
He expressed hope that such steps would not be repeated in future.
The incident has triggered discussions around social media content, political criticism and the limits of free speech.
